Turning Views was formed as a corporation in 2007 by Camilla Downs. She had no idea at the time it would lead to where it stands today in 2012.
Camilla Downs is a Special Needs Life Coach assisting families of children and adults with special needs or intellectual disabilities. As a Special Needs Life Coach she inspires families and individuals with special needs to SOAR . . . By Providing and Defining Solutions, Opportunities, Abilities and Resources. Camilla works with families to create and facilitate a Circle of Support for the family member with special needs and create a Life Quality Plan using person centered planning . . . a blueprint for the journey.
As a Certified Presenter and Trainer for AssistiveWare’s Proloquo2Go, Camilla speaks and presents regarding this AAC application used on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The population whom this benefits is comprised of those who are nonverbal and those who speak; but whose speech is unintelligible due to articulation and/or physiology of the mouth . . . children or adults with special needs, those in speech recovery, individuals with a communication disability. This also includes people who have autism, hearing impaired or who have dysarthria, apraxia, aphesia due to chromosome abnormalities, MS, stroke, CP, brain injury and many other conditions.
Camilla is also the Founder of the Turning Views Foundation which has as it’s slogan, Different iz Good . . . Spread the Word. Her book titled, D iz for Different – One Woman’s Journey to Acceptance will be available in Winter 2012.

Turning Views is also the portal for all Team TLC adventures. Team TLC is comprised of Thomas Darnell, Lillian Darnell and Camilla Downs. They are on a mission to share their lives with others in the hopes of inspiring them to think differently. And at the least give everyone a good ole laugh!
Thomas Darnell, 6 years old, is son to Camilla Downs and brother to Lillian Darnell. Thomas likes Super Heroes, Dirt, Playing, Candy, Going on Adventures, Team TLC Saturday Movie Night, Going to the Library, Going to the Park, Legos and playing with his cars.
Lillian Darnell, 10 years old, is daughter to Camilla and sister to Thomas. Lillian likes Fairies, Princesses, Reading, Writing, Drawing, Doing her Own Thang, French Fries, Going on Adventures, her Momma and writing on her blog. Momma would describe her as having “Strength of Character” and accomplishing things when her mind and body are ready for her too! Lilian has a genetic abnormality called 18p- or 18p deletion.
